The castle of Ginselberg is deeply intertwined with our family's history.
In 1863, Anton Graf von Schönfeldt († 1900) acquired the property and undertook a transformation, turning the building into a "Country Castle" through extensive renovations and expansions. The castle park, though significantly altered, stands as a testament to his vision. With additional land purchases, he shaped the estate into the approximately 350-hectare haven known as Ginselberg.
From 2009 to 2010, Carl Ludwig and Christine Schönfeldt undertook the task of renovating the Castle, preserving its historic charm and significance.
We are eternally grateful to be able to celebrate our wedding in such a beautiful and historically important location for us and the family. It always fills us with joy when we come-back to this place and spend time with our loved ones.
All our events will take place in the area around Scheibbs. If you fly into Vienna, transportation options to Scheibbs include renting a car, taking the train or taxi from the airport.
Scheibbs is approximately 120 kilometers from Vienna, Austria's splendid capital known for its historical grandeur, cultural richness, architectural elegance, and the famous Viennese Schnitzel. We love the city so much and hope you get to enjoy it as well.
Near Scheibbs, there are plenty of activities to enjoy. You can visit the beautiful area of the Wachau starting by the fascinating Melk Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For a relaxing experience, take a leisurely stroll along the Lunzer See, the beautiful Erlauf River or indulge in local culinary delights at traditional Austrian taverns.
Shuttles will be arranged to transport guests between the hotels and Ginselberg for Dinner and Dance on Saturday evening.
